VII INBEB Symposium
Frontiers of Biostructure: Dialogs on Structural Biology and Bioimaging
A Symposium of the National Institute of Science and Technology for Structural Biology and Bioimaging
The National Institute of Structural Biology and Bioimaging (INBEB) is a research network aimed at studying the molecular, cellular, and physiological bases of various diseases and their respective pathogens, focusing on a structural and functional approach from macromolecules to cells and tissues. In this way, INBEB promotes the establishment of bridges between basic research and clinical applications.
The institute consists of 20 associated laboratories (LAs), distributed across 22 research and educational institutions throughout the country. Together, these LAs bring together more than a hundred researchers, as well as postdoctoral fellows and students at the doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate levels.
The headquarters of INBEB is located within the National Center for Structural Biology and Bioimaging (CENABIO), a multi-user facility whose infrastructure comprises equipment such as nuclear magnetic resonance, electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, multiphoton microscopy, MRI and PET-SPECT-CT imaging, bioluminescence imaging, among other technologies. Currently, CENABIO occupies an area of 2200 m2 at UFRJ, and is divided into four units.
